El señor Jose Luis Cid del Automovil Touring Club me envió estas fotos, gracias Jose Luis.
Aqui vemos a Joao Rezende Dos Santos, Pancho Pepe Croquer y a Juan Manuel Fangio.
En esta reconozco a Maria Teresa de Filippis 1ra mujer en correr en Formula 1, se ve a Pancho Pepe Croquer y a su lado Julio Pola, ayuden a identificar a los demás, muy extraño el casco del de la extrema derecha, no tiene sujeción.

El caso del casco que no tienen sujeción puede ser que los tirantes laterales de cuero los haya puesto adentro del casco y el piloto se lo puso en la cabeza tal cual, fíjense que le casco esta mas alto ....

In the photo above with cars #8 and #12, the driver of car #8 is Harry Schell. The helmet of Castellotti has a distinctive black band around the bottom of the helmet whereas Schell's did not.

Recently received from the Porsche Archives the following photo of Von Hanstein in his #48 Porsche, Schell in car #8 and either Villoresi or Mieres in car #24.

Welcome to the Forum Almirante !

As you are aware, our friend and main engine behind this Forum, Branko Krnjajski very recently passed away. He was very focused and tireless pursuing a lead when he had information about an event, a photo or a race that he thought would be interesting to post in his forum. He was also very active in Ferrari Chat. All of us will miss him dearly.

We celebrate that you have been able to find additional photos of your Ferrari Mondial, some day we will get hold of another 16 mm movie of the 1955 race to share !

Please free to post any questions or information in english, I can translate for our spanish readers.

Dear Eduardo,

Thank you for your kind welcome, and as always I am looking for any more photos which include my 500 Mondial with the #8 on the side. The idea of another movie from that race would be wonderful.

I am sad that I shall no longer receive the late evening phone calls from Branko always with new information or very good questions. On 4 June he posted a picture and asked if there were any more identifications which could be made of the individuals. The famous and highly talented Italian Ferrari driver Eugenio Castellotti is to the right end of this picture shown as rubbing his nose. His helmet is distinctive with the black band. Please see:

Gracias por poner esta interesante infromacion sobre el Ferrari - Mercedes.

Nuestro amigo Branko estaba investigando sobre este Ferrari, y estaba convencido que lo habia ubicado en Venezuela.

Efectivamente, Branko le dedicó mucho tiempo y energía al tema del Ferrari-Mercedes y ese es un aporte más en su historial, que ojalá algún día se esclarezca finalmente.

Amigos, ese ferrari si esta en vnzla, el tema es algo mas delicado con respecto a sacar a la luz ese carro. Les aclaro que branko mantuvo muchas conversaciones con los que dicen ser los grandes entendido de esa materia, al salir a la luz los seriales mas de uno dejo de frecuentar el ferrari chats y branko comenzo a recibir correos y llamadas. Las historia es algo delicada. Branko siempre me dijo que habia que esperar. Ahora la pregunta es: debemos esperar..???

Dear Friends,

As I am not proficient in the Spanish language my comment may not be appropriate. The car in the photos published above by Senor Salgado is most definitely not in Venezuela but in the E.U. as shown in this photo taken of me in 0556(0446)/MD at the Ferrari Club of America National Meet last October on the New Jersey Motorsport Track in Millville, New Jersey. I have collected a complete history of all the events, drivers and owners and paint colors the car has ever had, and as you can see I chose to conserve the car in the exact livery it had at the 1st GP of Venezuela in November 1955.

Sorry, it is my fault and you are correct; the post previous to yours, mentioning that the "car was in Venezuela", is in refference to the Ferrari-Mercedes, as I posted before and by mistake in this thread some paper clips of that car belongin to the '57 GP thread. I will try to move that post where it belongs in order to avoid misunderstandings.
Thanks for the picture of you and your beautifull Mondial in action!
