Este AC rodo mucho por las carreteras del pais y ahora entre las Mille Miglia y el Monte Blanco.

Un amigo ingl?s, con quien hace unos a?os escribimos una nota en la revista ACtion que publica el AC Owners Club de Inglaterra, sobre la historia de los AC en Venezuela, es frecuente visitante en este foro y me ha enviado un correo en el que comenta, que el AC amarillo de la foto publicada por Diego Luparelli (en M?rida), podr?a ser el mismo que fuera de Renny Ottolina, en raz?n de algunos detalles en la carrocer?a como son las dos tomas de aire en el capot, las farolas y otros m?s, para que las analicen y den su concepto.

Aqui reproduzco la foto de Diego y otra publicada por Caribe. Alguien sabe de la suerte de ese carro? Sobrevivi?? Bienvenida cualquier informaci?n.




Adicionalmente, les comento que este se?or ingl?s, adquiri? en Inglaterra dos AC Bristol para restaurar, de origen venezolano y muy pronto publicar? las fotos en esta secci?n

Hello! This is my first post on the Forum, which is a very interesting insight into motorsport in Venezuela. Please can anyone help me with the history of an AC Ace Bristol which I bought in Venezuela in poor condition. It will be rebuilt to run again! I attach some pictures. When the car was new it was painted red, but when it was last used it was painted black with a gold radiator grill. On both sides of the car in large letters and numbers are the words 'TEAM 905'.

Does anyone know anything about this car please?

@Tim Isles. This is only a guess but the reference "Team 905" is suggestive of a junkyard that existed in Caracas in the Cota 905, that is the street where altitude was 905 m above sea level. The owner of this junkyard had at least one AC Cobra which he raced in the drag races in San Carlos and it is likely that he would have had other AC's. Good luck with your restoration

Hello Aparicio. Thank you very much for your response. I wonder if the junkyard is still in existence and if the owner remembers anything of the cars? My car looks as if it was being prepared as a drag racer, but I do not think it was ever completed. The fitting of a solid rear axle was never completed, and the new engine mountings have no holes drilled to take another type of engine.
Again, thank you for your interest and for helping me build up some history of the car. I have started the rebuild and have found the correct type of Bristol engine and gearbox for it.

Hello Tim, The junkyard I am talking about existed in 1976 1977 and I really don't know for how much longer afterwards because I left Venezuela in 1978 and even though I went back for a few years in the early 80's, I essentially lost contact. The junkyard was known as the "Chivera de la Cota 905" and I will ask around since I have just recently reconnected with some friends from tha era. I remember the AC Ace Bristols well from my early youth and wish you a lot of sucess with your restoration. Since I travel to England often, I may be lucky enough to see it after restoration in one of the shows. I'll keep you posted if I find any more information about the junkyard. Regards.
